Technical Clarity Session
Find out what you are actually building, and what it will take.
What this is
You have an idea, or an existing system that is fighting you, and you need a straight answer from someone who has shipped software for fifteen years. This is that answer. You fill in a short questionnaire, we spend up to an hour on a call, and you get a written recommendation covering the scope I would build, the technical approach I would take, the assumptions it rests on, the risks I would watch, and a rough implementation estimate.

Founders and product owners deciding whether to build something, and teams stuck on a technical decision that keeps getting deferred.
What's included
- Intake questionnaire so the call starts with context, not introductions
- Video call of up to 60 minutes
- Review of your idea, or of the specific technical problem you bring
- Written recommendation delivered afterwards
- Proposed scope and technical approach
- The major assumptions and risks I would flag before writing any code
- An approximate implementation estimate
What's not included
- Implementation work of any kind
- A fixed-price quotation binding on either side
- Ongoing advisory or retainer availability
- Formal security, compliance or legal review
Unless an accepted proposal says otherwise. If you need something on this list, say so in your request — it is usually possible, it just needs pricing separately.

- You receive the written recommendation, normally within two working days of the call
Timing
Up to 60 minutes on a call, plus the written recommendation. Typically scheduled within one week of payment. The written recommendation normally follows within two working days of the call.
Questions about this package
What if I decide not to build it?
That is a legitimate outcome and sometimes the most valuable one. The recommendation is yours either way, and it is written so it is useful to whoever ends up building — me or someone else.
Does this count towards a larger project?
Yes. If you go on to book a Prototype Sprint or a larger piece of work, I deduct this amount from the price of that engagement. It is applied by hand when I set the price on your next request, so mention it and I will check.
Can we go longer than an hour?
The call is capped at 60 minutes so the price stays honest. If it is clear we need more, a Senior Engineering Day is usually the better fit.
